FAQs

What is the difference between Botox and Fillers?

The main differences between Botox and Fillers are the areas in which they are placed and the results they each provide. Dermal Fillers are used to add volume to certain areas of the face that have lost volume over time. Botox will help reduce the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles by relaxing specific muscles. The areas most commonly treated with Fillers are lips, cheeks, laugh lines, jaw, and chin. The areas most commonly treated with Botox are; Forehead, crow’s feet, and 11 lines (between the brows).

Are the injections painful?

Topical anesthetic can be used to minimize any discomfort before injection. The Filler products that are used contain a numbing solution which can help as well. Seeking a licensed medical professional with extensive knowledge and experience will help to ensure the injections are placed properly with minimal to no discomfort.

Are the treatments safe?

Yes, all of our treatments including: injectables, microneedling, and chemical peels are all proven safe cosmetic treatments which are minimally invasive alternatives to plastic surgery. Downtime is minimal and support will always be provided by your healthcare provider.

Are there any side effects from receiving cosmetic Injections?

There is a possibility of minor bruising and/or swelling at the injection point which can be easily covered with makeup. Ice may be applied to the sites as well. Inflammation or any irritation around the injection site should subside within a few days. Luckily, cosmetic injections are relatively non-invasive so the downtime is very minimal.

What is the aftercare for these cosmetic treatments?

Aftercare depends on your skin's specific needs after certain treatments. Aftercare will be discussed by Nadia which should be followed for optimal outcomes. For example, it is not recommended to drink alcohol or take blood thinning medication 48-72 hours before and after your injections. Also - exercise, sweating, and saunas should be avoided for 1-2 days after your injectable treatment.

How quickly will I see results?

Result onset will vary depending on what treatment is done. For example, Dermal Filler results are instant, whereas Botox can take 5-7 days to start taking effect and will be at its maximum after 14 days. With Microneedling and Chemical Peels, results are dependent on your skin concerns. It is recommended to receive multiple treatments until the desired results are achieved. You may start to see optimal results after 3 treatments.

Will injections remove my wrinkles permanently?

While both Botox and Fillers can give beautiful yet natural results by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, neither one is permanent. Both Injections provide short-term results which may last between 3-12 months. Regular appointments are key if you want to maintain the youthful appearance your injections can provide.
